Quick Update! - Building Strength Organically

Hi Reader

Another quick update from a very soggy Lincoln.

I have a super busy week coming up, including my fully booked retreat day on Saturday and so I’m watching the weather like a hawk and hoping it is a least dry on the day!

Last week in my somatics classes, I started the first in a series of classes all around building strength on top of ease and we went back to early developmental movements as our foundation, these are the most organic and as somatic as you can get, these build co-ordination and control from the brain stem and integrate reflexes to help us feel calmer and regulated.

I’ve split the class into two halves so you can take time to practice these foundational movements - be your own experiment and try doing them daily and see how you feel! All the details are below.

Please note there are no classes at Central Wellness this week, classes resume on the 19th. You can book ahead using the link here . I’m absolutely loving teaching the 9:30 am Pause and Nourish somatic yoga class, by creating a space of gentle movement and guiding students into a place to deeply relax. More details below.

Wishing you a healthy and peaceful week, from my heart, soul and soma,

Liz 🧡🙏🏻

In Class this Week - Strength & Ease Part 2.

Building on from last week, we are working up to crawling, yes crawling! Exploring the foundations for this amazing strength building movement.

In the Libraries

In the Zoom class collection is last week’s part 1 of Strength & Ease,

You’ll also find I’ve split this class into two and put them in the Short & Sweet collection with a view to inspiring you to practice daily the Foundation Sequence and then the Strength & Ease part of the class.

Reconnection Retreat 2027

Following two successful retreats in 2025 & 2026 I am returning to the amazing Noka, Curlew and Avocet lodges in January 2027. These are the perfect venues that offer stunning accommodation and facilities in the lovely town of Woodhall Spa just 15 miles south east of Lincoln but a world away from your life.

The intention for my retreats is to create a supportive space for women to find time to nourish, nurture, heal, express, rest and reconnect. I am always humbled, grateful and in awe of everyone who joins me for embracing both the weekend and more importantly, themselves and each other.

Hi Reader Firstly, I want to thank everyone who came on Saturday to my Back Care Basics class, it was lovely to see some new and familiar faces and those that had travelled from afar 🧡🙏🏻 it was wonderful to take a deep dive into gently restoring moving for the back. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to take a reformer class. A really kind gesture from the owners of Central Wellness as a thank you to the teachers. I thought the timing for me was interesting, seeing as last week I’d finished...

Hi Reader As I walked to the post box this morning there was something that felt really strange, barely any traffic, or children walking to school, it felt like a Sunday, without the Sunday feel. It was a tumbleweed moment, where was everyone, had I woken in another dimension? Then my friend told me the game she was watching was really gripping, game? waited a moment then the penny dropped! I had no idea the re-run of the England v Mexico match was on. I'll admit, football isn't really my...

Hi Reader This week I finally made time to listen to this brilliant podcast with Dr Chatterjee and Dr Howard Schubiner, several of my students, friends and colleagues had already mentioned it to me (yesterday it was Test Match Special, so this morning it was this! 😄). It's not just interesting, it's important and it had me nodding along as someone who has spent years working in the very same territory, just through the different door of movement. Dr Schubiner talks about the difference...
