Hi Reader
Firstly, I want to thank everyone who came on Saturday to my Back Care Basics class, it was lovely to see some new and familiar faces and those that had travelled from afar 🧡🙏🏻 it was wonderful to take a deep dive into gently restoring moving for the back.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to take a reformer class. A really kind gesture from the owners of Central Wellness as a thank you to the teachers. I thought the timing for me was interesting, seeing as last week I’d finished teaching a series on building strength through natural movement and especially as I want to feel stronger I was curious to try this.
Well, I really enjoyed it, being with the group and being on the reformer, loved all the sliding on the reformer and feeling the resistance. I was challenged a little through the resistance, but what I found myself saying was “thank goodness for my somatics practice” for the awareness it gives me and the knowledge I have. Because we were guided to brace in the centre when we moved, which means we limit how well we move our arms and legs, which creates compensating patterns and emphasises any of the somatic reflex patterns we start with.
Having said all of this, I would do it again, next time adding my own somatics twist to it 😉. I say this all the time though, somatics first, get those foundations first, having that awareness of what strengthening can you do without going more deeply into your reflex pattern, then create strength from there.
Below, details of Daily Practice Week - free 30 minute classes Mon-Fri this week and my other offerings.
Have a wonderful week, from my heart, soul and soma to yours.

Now in the Library - Exploring Crawling
We begin by exploring how it feels to crawl, then go onto a gentle shoulders and hips sequence to create ease in moving on hands and knees. This isn’t about perfecting crawling, gaining strength can be about just exploring what is possible for you on any given day.

Reconnection Retreat 2027 - Just Two Rooms Left -
Following two successful retreats in 2025 & 2026 I am returning to the amazing Noka, Curlew and Avocet lodges in January 2027. These are the perfect venues that offer stunning accommodation and facilities in the lovely town of Woodhall Spa just 15 miles south east of Lincoln but a world away from your life.
The intention for my retreats is to create a supportive space for women to find time to nourish, nurture, heal, express, rest and reconnect. I am always humbled, grateful and in awe of everyone who joins me for embracing both the weekend and more importantly, themselves and each other.
