Hi Reader
Thank you for opening this week’s newsletter and welcome if you are new here 🙏🏻 and I hope you had a lovely weekend?
Last week in my village the swifts arrived back home - to their village, their homes and I cried with joy and relief. To me, they are the sound of summer, and a testament to resilience but their numbers are rapidly declining mainly due to their nesting sites being taken away, which absolutely breaks my heart especially as they return back to the same sites year after year.
We can all help in a small way by observing them and together with the RSPB we can get involved and record sitings of swifts nesting - you can read more about that here
I love listening to them when I’m in my garden - and would love to install swift boxes to encourage them - but living in a bungalow I cannot site them high enough up, but they and the other wildlife kept me company as I attempted to create a bit of order in the garden. I feel like I cannot keep up as everything bursts into life and growing super fast. I ended moving and lifting some heavy things and honestly - when I finish in the garden somatics really is a no - brainer for me, it takes all my strain and tension away and I feel really good, the good you feel after some physical activity without the “this is going to hurt tomorrow” dread. This is just one of the many benefits of this practice.
So, do look up and listen out for our swifts, I’d love to hear if you have them living near you, have a great week and I look forward to seeing your soma soon.
Below are the details of what’s coming up in class and reminder of my retreat and workshop news.

Reconnection Retreat 2027
Following two successful retreats in 2025 & 2026 I am returning to the amazing Noka, Curlew and Avocet lodges in January 2027. These are the perfect venues that offer stunning accommodation and facilities in the lovely town of Woodhall Spa just 15 miles south east of Lincoln but a world away from your life.
The intention for my retreats is to create a supportive space for women to find time to nourish, nurture, heal, express, rest and reconnect. I am always humbled, grateful and in awe of everyone who joins me for embracing both the weekend and more importantly, themselves and each other.
